OK... now I’ve got your attention let me first finish my quote before someone throws a brick through my window!
“But a man is not greater than a women, nor is a women greater than a man!”
Who in their right mind would set a tabby cat as guard over their own home or business... and who would use a German Shepherd to catch mice? Don’t both have differing mental, emotional and physical characteristics which predispose them to certain tasks? I mean, would a cat really care about defending your property against an intruder... and if it did, could it really do anything about it? And the thought of a German Shepherd attempting to catch mice speaks for itself.
Yet none can say that a cat is greater than a dog nor that a dog is greater than a cat. The argument is illogical and has no sound bases in reality, yet we can say without any contradiction that they are not to be considered as equals. And so it is between a Man and a Women, for who could honestly argue that a man doesn’t differ physically and emotionally to a women? Yet today we are taught and even pressured into ignoring such obvious characteristics, and if any should refuse to ignore them... they are considered a bigot.
When God first created Mankind He made but one... Adam, this single creature held all of the physical, emotional and spiritual attributes that were intended for Mankind, all of the fullness that God had intended for this new creation abided in him and in him alone, for Adam was all that existed of Mankind at that time. Yet we read in Genesis 2:22 that He ‘took from Adam’ and created Eve.
21 - So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh.
22 - And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man.
23 - Then the man said,
“This at last is bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called Woman,
because she was taken out of Man.”
Of the physical I hardly need to mention, with the women’s body providing all that is required to receive her husband’s seed, bare, deliver and feed their newborn children... all of this exclusive to the women. And what of the man who alone carries the families seed, lacking all of his wife’s procreative qualities... retains the greater strength, a strength purposed for him to carry the burdens of life that she should not and at times, can not bare... can we then ignore these truths, as some would propose and simply pretend that each sex is not predisposed to different tasks and posses differing abilities?
Then let us speak of less obvious qualities and attributes... which being exalted in the one we find diminished in the other. Does not the women excel greatly over the Man with her incredible insight and powerful cunning, she who with but a few words can strengthen her husband to face the challengers that life has set before him? And who is it that the husband and children run to for emotional healing, if not the wife? For without her gifted insight her family struggles... unable to resolve their fears and worries they earnestly seek she who can.
And who but the husband, with a single embrace can secure his wife’s fears and drive away all her ‘demons’? And more, with his wife’s steadfast loyalty is able to fully exercise his ‘God given authority’ over his household... bringing order out of confusion and set their children on a blessed path and a sure footing to enter the adulthood World in peace.
1 - Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
2 - “Honour your father and mother” which is the first commandment with a promise
3 - “that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”
6 - But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
7 - For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;
8 - And they two shall be one flesh: so then they are no more two, but one flesh.
Only in a heterosexual marriage do all of these attributes exist, but then only in a truly ‘God fearing marriage” are they properly exercised to bring a full blessing. That is why God says they are then ‘one flesh and no more two, but one’ as it was in the beginning... in the single Adam.
Authority.
This is the point that I have been slowly working my way towards. For although being only one of the many attributes of the original Adam... When God took Eve from Adam, the fulness of the Godly attribute of authority resided not in Eve but in Adam, and it is this attribute that when respected and exercised correctly will bring such blessings and protection to the family, yet if trampled upon or use to abuse... terrible heart ache.Firstly... Let me disarm the vile weapons of the wicked one, for we are not unaware of his schemes. I am not saying that a women can not lord it over a man. For with her fantastic insight, persuasive powers and steadfast resolve many women have and do bless the World in politics, business, academia and the arts... and this to the very highest level. Nor am I suggesting that a wicked man, should use any arguments here to abuse, beat and violate those under his care... For the Scriptures clearly command that the husband ‘MUST’ love his wife as himself...
25 - Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her
33 - However, each one of you [Husbands] also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband
4 - But the serpent [Satan] said to the woman, “You will not surely die. [If you disobey God]
5 - For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
6 - So when the woman [Eve] saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.
Be sober, be watchful: your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour,
The Church
- Satan used the powers in Eve to overthrow the authority in Adam, and so cursed Mankind.
- Likewise, Satan attempts to overthrow the godly marriage via the wife who refusing to keep God’s command, overthrows her husband.
- And in the same manner, Satan seeks to overthrow the Church, finding women who refusing God’s command not to Lord it over men, lead whole congregations into error.
But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. [Regarding the Church]
10 - An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels.
11 - The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain.
12 - She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.
13 - She seeks wool and flax, and works with willing hands.
14 - She is like the ships of the merchant; she brings her food from afar.
15 - She rises while it is yet night and provides food for her household and portions for her maidens.
16 - She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.
17 - She dresses herself with strength and makes her arms strong.
18 - She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp does not go out at night.
19 - She puts her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.
20 - She opens her hand to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy.
21 - She is not afraid of snow for her household, for all her household are clothed in scarlet.
22 - She makes bed coverings for herself; her clothing is fine linen and purple.
23 - Her husband is known in the gates when he sits among the elders of the land.
24 - She makes linen garments and sells them; she delivers sashes to the merchant.
25 - Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come.
26 - She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
27 - She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 - Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:
29 - “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.”
30 - Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
31 - Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates.
But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
